Al Ghurair was the first shopping mall in the Middle East and now one of the top five destinations visited by tourists in Dubai. The amount of effort put into the production of the new look of Al Ghurair City is unmatched: a total of 234 gold coloured meshes weighing 345 kgs were used on the ceiling and the complementary floor design is based on 22 tonnes of Terrazzo which was hand made and shipped from Italy and took 1,200 man hours to manually lay.
It

in the Middle East and a car park which
bays extra wide aisles at 6.7 metres and
the widest ramps in the region at 4.3
metres.
Al

and covers 300 thousand sq. ft. of retail
space, which holds 250 stores, 350 apartments
and 150 thousand sq. ft. of offices. Its
shops will offer a combination of traditional
and modern merchandise from Middle Eastern
textile to perfumeries. Al Ghurair City
has two levels and houses an 8-screen
Grand Cinecity cinema.
The transformation of Al Ghurair City balances Arabic motifs featuring teak and gold finishing together with a blend of bright colours and warm lighting. Wooden teak beams and gold mesh fabric twirls on the ceiling give the feel of a traditional market. In total 234 gold meshes weighing 345 kgs were used on the ceiling. The complementary floor design is based on 22 tonnes of Terrazzo featuring a nature theme in an array of colours and motifs. All retail outlets in Al Ghurair City feature wall-to-wall glass facades for maximum visibility of their merchandise for consumers and the newly refurbished Food Court is designed to integrate the theme of UAE's rich marine heritage featuring turtles, shells and foliage from the seabed.
