Mall of the Emirates, the leading shopping mall in the UAE and the official host of DSS’s ‘Back to School’ opening ceremony has lined up an exciting range of activities and workshops to educate and entertain children all this week.
The star attraction of the Back to School week is a giant model of Modesh stationed in the Galleria, which is 2 meters high and 6 meters long. Unlike the Modhesh seen all over Dubai, this one is a white sculpture that visitors to the mall will be encouraged to colour in blue, yellow and black via fingerprint painting.
“We need one million fingerprints in a week to color Modesh. This is a challenging task but I am confident that we can achieve this,” said Fuad Sharaf, General Manager, Mall of the Emirates.
This week, Mall of the Emirates in association with DED (Department of Economic Development) has also organized a series of workshops including ‘School Fantasy’, and the painting workshop titled ‘Imagine your future’, giving budding talent a chance to showcase their skills. During the week, roaming magicians will also entertain children in the mall and Dubai TV will catch the excitement live between 9 – 10 p.m. from the Galleria.
“The Back to School week marks the end of the Dubai Summer Surprises, a successful ten weeks of family entertainment and retail offers. These past few weeks, Mall of the Emirates has welcomed over 5 million shoppers who have visited the mall to avail themselves of great bargains and experience world class entertainment performed by international artists flown in exclusively for DSS,” added Sharaf.
“The DSS celebrations have had a positive impact on our retailers, restaurants, and leisure outlets. We would like to thank the DSS planning committee and the various Government departments, without whose support this would not be possible,” concluded Sharaf.
