Dubai Festival City has announced the launch of Bags to Riches, an amazing six-week promotion with prizes valued at more than Dh3 million ($816,816) for the Dubai Shopping Festival.

Visitors shopping at Festival Power Centre and Festival Waterfront Centre during DSF have the chance to transform their life by winning a weekly grand prize ‘bag of riches’ that includes a rent-free apartment for one year, luxury car and speedboat boat, plus vouchers for furniture, electronics and groceries.

“We strongly support Dubai’s Government initiative of the Dubai Shopping Festival,” said Tom Miles, Senior General Manager Retail at Dubai Festival City. “This is the first year our retailers have the opportunity to participate in the DSF giveaways and we are confident the ‘wow’ factor of our promotion will generate a tremendous amount of excitement and contribute to the continued success and popularity of DSF.

The promotion features an astounding range of prizes each week. Guests qualify for a prize draw by spending Dh300 at any of the retail and entertainment establishments. Every day one prize draw entrant will walk away with a Dh5,000 gift voucher. Each week, seven qualifying participants will be entered into the ‘Bags to Riches’ grand prize draw for a chance to transform their life.

Six lucky grand prize winners will receive the keys to a luxury one bed-room apartment at Dubai Festival City’s prestigious Al Badia Hillside Village where they will live, rent free, for one year.

Along with the apartment, Dubai Festival City is also giving these six lucky winners a Lexus IS300 automobile, Gulf Craft 20-foot speed boat, IKEA and Ace assorted home furnishing vouchers, a monthly grocery allowance at HyperPanda Hypermarket, PLUG-INS ELECTRONIX gift vouchers, a Four Seasons Golf Club Dream Golf Package and yearly restaurant, fashion and jewellery vouchers.

To enter, guests simply present their receipts at the Centres’ concierge desks and collect a coupon, which must then be deposited in the competition barrels around the centre. Live draws will be held in the evening for the previous day’s entries and all winners will be notified by telephone.

Seven daily voucher winners will be invited back to the Centre for the grand prize draw. At the weekly event, each participant will draw for a ‘door key’ and whoever has the key that fits the display lock collects the grand prize
