Tanzanian envoy invites UAE investors

The Tanzanian Ambassador to the UAE, Mustafa Saalim Niyanjani, inaugurated the Tanzanian pavilion on Wednesday at the Global Village.

The pavilion was inaugurated in the presence of the General Consul of Tanzania for Dubai and the Northern Emirates; Abdul Reda Ali Bin Reda, Ceo of the Global Village; representatives of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Ebrahim Abdul Rahim, Director of the Global Village; and Tanzanian expatriates in Dubai.

The Tanzanian ambassador, in his opening speech, called on Emirati businessmen to invest in his country, pointing out the numerous investment opportunities and the thriving tourism sector in the East African nation.

He stressed the friendly relations between the two countries and thanked the government and people of the UAE for their support in establishing the country's embassy in Abu Dhabi and a general consulate in Dubai.

Hussain Kaswani, Project Manager for the Global Village, said that the Tanzanian pavilion covers 750 square metres and hosts 44 retail stores belonging to Tanzanian traders, who have come to participate in the Global Village to promote their products in the Gulf via Dubai.

The pavilion also includes a section which promotes tourism and wildlife parks in Tanzania, where visitors can see wild animals in their natural habitats. The pavilion also includes a theatre in which shows and traditional folklore dances from Africa are staged.

The Global Village, a member of the Tatweer Group, opened its gates to visitors at Dubailand, located on Emirates Road, on December 13, 2006 and will remain open until February 9 this year.
