The DSF Office launched a new record breaking initiative titled Dubai records, in a ceremony held at the Creek Park on Feb 16 to commemorate a decade of Guinness World Records events held during Dubai Shopping Festival.

The ceremony was attended by Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of DSF; Ibrahim Saleh, DSF General Coordinator; and Eesa Adam, Head of Dubai Shopping Malls Group.

Laila Suhail spoke at the event and praised His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice president, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, for imparting the spirit of achievement to Dubai's multicultural population.

"We are living in an era of achievements, an era of success and prosperity propelled by a nation-wide spirit and enthusiasm implanted by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai," began Laila Suhail.

"It is of this spirit that DSF was inspired to create Dubai Records, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of Guinness World Records in DSF, an event that was launched to imprint Dubai's name in the books of history," she said.

Speaking on the creation of Dubai Records and its role during DSF in the coming years, Laila said, "The focus of Dubai Records will be on the accomplishments of Dubai's multicultural society and the success of such attempts will go a long way in reinforcing the competitive spirit that the coming generations will assimilate for a successful future."

"We, at the DSF Office, strongly believe that the future of Dubai will be studded with achievements and we will only be delighted to write down these triumphs in Dubai Records," she concluded.

During the first part of the ceremony, the audience was shown a visual presentation on the achievements of Dubai and its progress by comparing the accomplishments in various sectors over the years.

In the presentation, leading industry professionals from sectors like aviation, travel, real estate, and construction, talked on their views about Dubai's progress.

Following the presentation, the logo for Dubai Records was unveiled by Laila during which a spectacular fireworks display lasting almost ten minutes adorned the night sky above Creek Park.
